Have you ever looked at one of your reels and wondered, "Hmmm, did I put fluorocarbon on that one...or was it mono?" It's easy to do especially if you use both clear mono and clear fluoro. Well, here's a quick, easy way to figure out what you're working with. While the poor guy in the video below got fleeced purchasing fake Seaguar blue label "fluorocarbon" from China for $8.50 per spool (umm, yeah, that was bogus from the git go), his test showing it's not fluoro works like a charm. Quite simply, mono burns (it's nylon, after all) while fluorocarbon will not. If you're not sure which type of line you spooled up the last time, just hit the end with a Bic and you'll have your answer in a flash! |
