A blustery, cold NNW wind greeted Leesville BASSMasters at Hibernia ramp on Kerr Lake on March 3rd, and while skies were clear and sunny, the stiff wind would linger for the remainder of the day. Temps were in the mid 30s at blast-off, topping out in the mid-50s by weigh-in. Water temps were in the low 50s.
After all boats returned to the ramp and the catches were weighed, Tournament Director Wes House claimed 1st place (3 fish, 9.82 lbs) anchored with a 6.53 lb kicker. Asst. Tournament Director Sheldon Godfrey claimed 2nd (1 fish, 2.59 lbs), followed by Duke Bevard in 3rd (1 fish, 2.49 lbs). Jim Simons (1 fish, 2.41 lbs) and Mark Cannon (1 fish, 2.14 lbs) also weighed fish. Tom Robertson, Mike West, Mike Langer, Mike Lee and 2017 Champion Craig Koefler did not bring fish to the scales today. Our next tournament will be a two-day event at Falls Lake on March 24 & 25, and we're looking forward to somewhat milder conditions. |
